Holiday gatherings with offline groups

With (US) Memorial Day coming up, I was wondering how many posters have an offline Aspie group that they can attend gatherings or holiday events with, using Memorial Day as an example, the US tradition is for a cookout. For purposes of the poll, by group, I mean more than 2 individuals on the spectrum who arrange offline meetings.

One of the reasons that I ask is that I often see many posts around the holidays about people not having people they can meet with, and if offline groups are something that could assist in that area.

I also would be interested if anyone had any thoughts/issues with such a concept, or if any posters have experience with these sorts of events.
