Hello, I'm Tony!

And I'm an aspie, diagnosed when I was 26. Spent most of my life feeling I was "normal" yet different, when in reality my brain was different.

I decided to join, because I'm having a hard time. In general, and in friendships/relationships. I feel alone and unable to "connect" with someone in a way that's more than skin deep.

I'll probably post this in a separate post, though i'll put a brief overview:

I've been having very bad thoughts, and on the verge of giving up. Things have been building up for quite some time now, and the final trigger was realizing a week ago I was in love with my friend's gf of 3 weeks. It's difficult because I love my friend, but this girl just... get's me. And I feel that i'm a rotten friend for wanting my friends gf in my life. Even waiting to see if they work or not.

Anyway, I'm here to find help support and advice, because other forums such as loveshack, fail to see my situation, no matter how hard I try to explain it. They've even labelled me as a bad friend, a creep, a weirdo and it's destroying me.

anyway, I hope to find the help and support in this community that I need most right now.

Well the good news is that here, we're all weirdos, creeps, psychopaths and my personal favourite, high functioning sociopath, so welcome. o_O ;)

Hi Tony

welcome to af.webp

Hi Tony
Welcome to the forum.
Where does the "Professor Optics" moniker come from, may I ask?

I've been classed as a genius aspie, and i where optics. Well actually, I tend to think and explain things like a professor, and wear glasses lol.

Have you ever heard Eric Clapton's song "Have you ever loved a woman"?
Welcome.

hah, i have. Great song, and yea, i've loved a couple of women... feelings weren't mutual though.

Welcome, Tony! I’m curious, what country are you from? You mentioned in another post that your public transport is rather unsafe and not very well organized. You also mentioned people getting thrown off for being Caucasian. That instantly made my mind play guess as to where you’re from. If you don’t feel like disclosing, that’s obviously fine, I’m just a naturally curious person :)

I asked because he wrote that to his best friend's wife - Patricia Harrison (George 's wife). He eventually got with her but it never worked out.

I'm from Cape Town, South Africa... It's ridiculous here. Racism isn't white on colour, it's colour on white, but they fail to admit it... can't even get a job without "race" playing a part in whether you get a job or not.. lol

Yea, sounds accurate lol

Thank you for satisfying my curiosity! South Africa was my first guess as well. I’ve only visited once, but I’ve seen a lot of documentaries about the racial tensions there.

yea, it's getting quite bad. just last week they burnt like 6 train coaches. it's sad, because SAfrica is a beautiful and being ruined by politics
