I like to think of ASD as constant nerd-mode, whereas NTs can kind of drift in and out.
Sometimes you just don't want to noticeand enthuiastically wishing to share their thoughts or knowledge about something, and not necessarily picking up cues or recognizing that they may have made the same infodump to the same person already.
