Favourite cover versions of songs...

R.I.P Amy, she had her problems, but she was a good singer. I Liked her album Back to Black.

It's very hard to cover this well. But they do it...okay. Nobody can really touch Prince. They come close.

So I was wondering what Alice contemporaries was doing in '73. Apparently this.
Big fan of the original. This is one is...okay. (Rolling Stones cover.)

Original by The Who (1971)
Bargain, Resurrection [Rez] Band (1989)
Made famous by The Doobie Brothers (1972)
Jesus Is Just Alright, DC Talk (1992)

NGL, I'm still a DC Talk fanboy (since my youth) and I never knew that song was a cover.

Also,

I bet a lot of you remember the original. I love this version for some reason

There are lots of cover versions of songs I like even better than the original versions. I'll list the ones by my favorite groups and singers here. You may disagree with me, but I know what sounds good to me.

THE JACKSON 5
Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah [musically] (from the movie "Song of the South")
I'm Losing You (original by The Temptations)
I'm the One You Need (original by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles)
Don't Know Why I Love You [musically] (original by Stevie Wonder)
The Young Folks (original by Diana Ross (It was credited to Diana Ross and The Supremes, but the recording featured only Diana Ross with anonymous background singers.))
Ready or Not, Here I Come (original by The Delfonics)
Oh How Happy [musically] (original by The Shades of Blue)
Doctor My Eyes (original by Jackson Browne)
Little Bitty Pretty One (original by Frankie Lymon)
Corner of the Sky (from the Broadway musical "Pippin'")
Forever Came Today (original by Diana Ross (Another song credited to Diana Ross and The Supremes that featured only Diana Ross.))

MICHAEL JACKSON
Rockin' Robin (original by Bobby Day)
People Make the World Go Round [musically] (original by The Stylistics)
My Girl (original by The Temptations)
Shoo Be Doo Be Doo Da Day (original by Stevie Wonder)
Doggin' Around (original by Jackie Wilson)
Johnny Raven [musically] (original by The Supremes)
Morning Glow (from the Broadway musical "Pippin'")
Melodie (original by The Supremes and The Four Tops)
Lonely Teardrops (original by Jackie Wilson)
That's What Love is Made Of (original by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles)

DIANA ROSS AND THE SUPREMES
How Do You Do It (original by Gerry and The Pacemakers)
A Hard Day's Night (original by The Beatles)
You Can't Do That (original by The Beatles)
Can't Buy Me Love (original by The Beatles)
Bring It On Home to Me (original by Sam Cooke)
Good News (original by Sam Cooke)
Yesterday (original by The Beatles)
Shake Me, Wake Me (original by The Four Tops)
These Boots are Made for Walking (original by Nancy Sinatra, which I dislike)
Come and Get These Memories (original by Martha Reeves and The Vandellas)
Hang On Sloopy (original by The McCoys)
Love is Like a Heat Wave (original by Martha Reeves and The Vandellas)
This Can't Be Love (from the Broadway musical "The Boys From Syracuse")
My Heart Stood Still (original by Jessie Matthews)
Ode to Billie Joe [musically] (original by Bobbie Gentry)
You Ain't Livin' Till You're Lovin' (original by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell)
Can't Shake it Loose (original by Funkadelic)
Everyday People [musically] (original by Sly and The Family Stone)
Hey Western Union Man (original by Jerry Butler)

THE TEMPTATIONS
Way Over There (original by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles)
Everybody Needs Love (original by Mary Wells)

SMOKEY ROBINSON AND THE MIRACLES
Everybody Needs Love (Very unique version. Yet I like The Temptations' version best.)
Medley: Something/Something You Got (Former originally by The Beatles; latter originally by Chris Kenner. To me this medley sounds better than both versions each.)

DAVID BOWIE
See Emily Play (original by Pink Floyd)
I Can't Explain (original by The Who)
Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere (original by The Who)
(I dislike all the above original versions of these David Bowie covers.)

Both bands covered each other around the same time. I love how different their styles are and how they made them their own

Feel free to make fun of me for this lol...
I'm way too old for whatever this song is from lol (turns out it's from a kids show from the 2010s, when I was already basically an adult. I was vaguely aware of what Monster High dolls were but I didn't know there was a show.) It keeps popping up on my Youtube feed for some reason.
The song has been stuck in my head all day though because it has the same catchiness factor as early-mid 2000s pop music. I was surprised that the original of this song was from like 2012 because it reminds me of the music that was on the radio when I was growing up. I would've totally loved this song when I was 9 or 10.

This is a cover
