DIPLOMACY - THE GAME

I was wanting to leave an army in Venice letting Austria think we're in alliance so they move south and then we close in. That's one way.

You don't want to leave Venice for any reason. It's an insurance policy against immediate aggression. Your northern flank. Risky to do otherwise...unless you have an ironclad alliance with Austria-Hungary and you want everyone to know it.

There's a bunch of those "thingies" right across Austrias border just for the taking if we can get them to go south thinking we are protecting the north.

So get Tunis then go over to Turkey?

Yes, provided Austria-Hungary doesn't enter its fleet into the Adriatic. (You want to convince them that they aren't a real sea power. It's true, anyways.)

Don't advance towards Turkey unless they attempt to go into the Ionian Sea. You only want to appear belligerent if it's really necessary. Something lost on leaders of major powers which led to the First World War.

Dude, we have to play aggressive because we're going to lose anyway. Apparently, it's a given that either Italy or Austria will backstab the other eventually?

If this is played as a game EVERYONE must stab each other in the back. That's why you don't play this game with good friends or loved ones. The winner must control 18 supply centers for one round. You can't win without making war against everyone- eventually.

Aggression is about timing and circumstances. Only a fool attacks before they can accrue new armies or fleets by capturing some neutral supply centers- Dude. :p

I think I'll recall my ambassador from YOUR country. Have fun!
