Diagnosis

Questella

Peace, Love and all that good stuff
I got my official diagnosis from a psychologist yesterday...

So I'm for real for real now...
I don't even know how to describe what I'm feeling.

I'm glad that it is official. It's good to know for real and it's okay not knowing how to feel. I didn't either ....

Happy that it's recognised as a thing but sad because it's something you have to live with, is that generally the jist of it?

I was recently diagnosed, I hadn't ever considered Aspergers as anything that affected me but after issues at work I was referred to a psychologist who then strongly suggested an assessment. It was all very fast.

When the diagnosis was given my reaction was almost 'so what', what's followed is nearly two months of reading and counselling and that has hit me like a freight train. The implications and affect I have had on my work life and family are difficult to come to terms with.

Becoming aware of the impact has been painful and highly emotional.

On the upside, those around me are now feeling able to tell me how they have felt, and I'm getting better at hearing that
