Current music/song obsession

I've always been a Miley fan, there was a reel on IG the other day with See You Again. That was my first favourite song of hers. So I listened to it probably 100x lol.

I love her newer song Flowers and Do My Thang is another favourite.

Olivia Rodrigo. I will only link the clean version of one of her songs, as most of her songs have beyond pg13 language (not racial slurs or anything, just moderate swearing in some songs).

and ofc Eric cartman singing “oh holy night” from the season 3 episode Mr hankey’s Christmas classics. A whole album of the same name was released in conjunction with the episode. During the end of the episode, the song “have yourself a merry Christmas” plays, and the lyric “Happy golden days of yore," is sung, various characters that Mary Kay Bergman (a voice actress that appeared on the show for the first three seasons before she lost a battle with mental illness) are shown in a white haze, paying tribute to the late actress. Her lines for the album were pre recorded before her passing.

Back to “oh holy night”. Cartman’s version has some of the lyrics cut out because he doesn’t know the actual words to the song. Cartman's own version of the song makes mention of his excitement to receive presents on Christmas morning because “Jesus was born so I get presents. Thank you Jesus for being born.” It’s clear this kid is only after spoiling himself rotten (which his mom already does).

I like the Krankies at the moment, even though they acted comedy more than sang songs, but I still like their songs they did sing, and they're so funny.

I also like Angelo Kelly & Family, their country music.

Going through a Pavement phase again. I first got into them in 2006 and was fanatical from roughly 2006-2010. Their songs are always inventive and catchy. I love Malkmus's lyrics and his ability to turn a weak singing style into something powerful. The more beautiful his songs got, the more he flaunted his terrible pitch control. Their music is funny and touching.
