Can you play board games?

I've been trying since I was a kid. I just can't keep track of things.

I ask people to let me know when it's my turn and they usually get mad at me because I'm too slow counting the numbers from the dices and making my moves in the games.

They end up pointing to the table on the spot my piece is supposed to be while I'm still counting the dice, yell at me or just start to take it from me and move it by themselves.

I stopped playing board games. It's a game supposed to be fun. I don't understand how it's fun, never did, but I tried to play them to blend in but it never worked.

I also can't play football, volleyball, etc. I can't seem to remember who's in my team and always end up ruining the game by doing something dumb, discoordinate or against the rules.

As a child I would constantly be hit in the face by the ball when playing so I stopped.

Can anyone relate to this?

Yes, I can't enjoy board games. I used to go to a Board Games meet-up and would be so tense, trying to keep up with conversation and remembering what the heck I was doing on the game, that I stopped going. I made lots of mistakes and felt self conscious. This spelled disaster. The last time I was around people playing board games, I politely declined to play and said I would just watch. I enjoyed that a lot more!

BTW, I can't swim, can't ride a bike, or ice skate or roller skate. Fun, huh?;)

I learned how to swim by almost drowning when no one was around to save me. XD

I can ride a bike but the last three times I tried I got injured. The last one I cracked a hip bone. Okay... Enough of bicycles for me! Too many things to pay attention at once.

I love watching board games, too! Waaay better!

I'm actually really good at bored games (mainly word or list based ones like Scattergories and Logo Game) but I get really frustrated when people don't play seriously or don't follow the rules.

I'm not very good at strategy games such as Monopoly or chess though because there are too many variables and you need to "read people" to pre-empt their next move, which I can't do.

I can play simple board games (Sorry, battleship, yahtzee, Life, Scrabble, etc.). Chess is completely beyond me, and my friends play very complicated strategic games that i just can't seem to follow. I mean, if they take the time to explain it, and we play several games while everyone is being patient with me, I can get to a point where i can maybe fake a decent game, but as far as actually grasping the finer points of strategy, Fahgetaboutit!!! I'm usually more interested in lining up the game pieces in true OCD fashion, everything meticulously lined up...I get really wrapped up in that process...

I have a fab game that my brother got me. It's called Ticket to Ride and the idea is to collect cards and try to build railway routes across North America (or Europe depending on the edition). There's strategy involved so I never win, but I enjoy it because you get to collect train stations.

That's the one game we all love playing!! Yeah, I almost never win, but I get close since i love building routes that go as long as I can make them! Sometimes the rules are a little confusing, and I have to spend longer trying to figure out exactly WHERE my towns ARE, but its fun, and i like the train-stacking aspect of it!

I'm pretty good at board games especially strategy games. I have never really been good at sports or video because I have no reaction time and I have no coordination (I can't even throw a ball right).

I was going to say yes, because of taking you literally, but reading what you go through, no I cannot! I do the same thing as you.

My mathmatical mind is 0 and so, I annoy my husband when it comes to adding up etc.

I can't swim either! I tried so hard to learn, but it just didn't work! I can ride a bike though, but subconsciously I feel that it was a miracle to learn and thus, I embraced that I could do it. Ice skating and roller skating, a bit NO for me! I love table tennis though, which is rather strange, since I cannot play catch; I am always missing the ball, but I am very good at table tennis.

That is so me! I hate chess because it is so flipping fussy! I admit I do feel there is a slight air of: if you can play chess, you are very intelligent!

Chess is very static and I have time to think. Not so difficult for me (I don't like it, though).
