I could start a whole thread about music I listened to growing up but I think I listened to very different genres than a lot of people here who are roughly my age
You should! It would probably attract more people than you think. I get the sense that people here listen to a whole range of music.I guess I didn't listen to a lot of rock music in the 90s to 2000s. I was obviously young at that time, but my music taste has remained largely the same since then. Most of what I listened to as a very young child was electronic music, hip-hop and R&B, non-English music, and Europop. I also liked music from the 80s growing up even though I was younger than the music lol
Check this out. I wish I could find more like it:At one point I really liked N*Sync and the Backstreet Boys, but every girl my age did lol... the difference was that I genuinely liked their music, I didn't find them attractive and I don't think I even knew what they looked like tbh.
I think I was in middle school the first time I intentionally sought out listening to rock or metal.
If you decide to do so, I can give you some suggestions that are different instead of the cliched recommendations that are usually include Nirvana and other bands that have been overplayed. I never want to listen to Nirvana’s music ever again partly for that reason.I guess I didn't listen to a lot of rock music in the 90s to 2000s.

Guh, I know that feeling. My older brother would only listen to one or two songs per band and would play them to the point of endorphin withdrawal.Oh man, I'm with you on that. Stuff can get so old for me so fast and they were one of the first bands that totally got worn out due to older siblings blasting it all the time.
My definition of 'alternative rock' and 'grunge' must be off because I can't tell the difference anymore
