Also, adding up how much protein you need. 40 to 60 grams a day. An older people need to increase protein, not decrease it.

Good going. Now for some exercise. Little steps, Markness.

Little steps are so important. In everything we do. I appreciate taking little steps. Little steps lead to success.
How can I have a better year this time around?

You and me both. I really hope this is a great year for us.

I hope we all have a good 2023! This world has been through quite a lot recently!

First, lose the angst. Desperation will affect your behavior. Not for the better.
Like yourself and enjoy things, even if it means going solo.
What are your goals for being social and become independent? Make a plan.
    Look for the shy gals.
I am glad I don’t work for the next few days since I have food poisoning in my system.

So sorry. That's nasty and painful. Take care of yourself.
I lost my super glue tube and I don’t remember how it could’ve happened. Geez, this whole year has been about me losing things and messing up. :( I’m such a failure.

I swear, you sometimes seem like you're trying to make "hating yourself" into some sort of Olympic sport or something, considering how much effort you put into doing it. You arent a failure because you lost some tube or some gizmo. That's silly and you know it.

Besides, if you think losing a tube of whatever is bad, I tell ya, I once lost my keychain. It is three feet long and loud. Where was it? Hanging on my neck. No, I dont know why. So yeah. "Dropped tube somewhere, cant find it" aint too bad compared to that goofiness.

@Misery this is why I have my keys on a dog chain caribena'd to my jeans. If I leave my keys in the front door again, I'm taking the door with me! Hard to ignore a door hanging off your pants! :smilecat:
I never heard back from my instructor about getting my story published. Did she lie to me?

It was a mighty good story too, hopefully she'll get to it & put it in print.

    I emailed her just now.

It never occurred to me to wonder whether my instructor was lying to me about putting my stuff
in the school yearly lit publication. Was just a routine matter and took time from when he said
*this is going in* to the thing actually getting published.
Why is it ok for others to hate me but if I speak up for myself, I am in the wrong?

The suppositions of both those premises are in error.

You're never in the wrong for speaking up for yourself, but do be aware that you might not like the responses of others when you do (but don't let that prevent you , either!)
My alarm clock didn’t sound off this morning. I slept way past the time I usually get up. Fortunately, work is an hour and 15 minutes later than usual for me lately.
I feel like I am going to cry any moment now. :(

Crying's not the worst thing a person can do.

My mother hated to cry though, she said.
I think she felt it seemed weak of her to cry.
I had to eat some frozen yogurt because I had bad acid reflux in the middle of the day.

So yogurt helps against acid reflux? I need to keep that in mind

    Yogurt helps, kefir in particular.
The people who don’t want me to have a relationship or become a father I wish I could prove wrong.

Honestly for someone like that, even if you were like, just GLOWING with potential to be the father of the year, they'd STILL say something like that, because that's how they are. They... dont... care. They just want to get a rise out of you.

And you keep giving it to them. Long after they're gone.

I agree with Misery, even if people say mean things like that to you, they're likely doing it to other people now and have already forgotten what they said to you. I doubt they really care, but it does hurt when someone intentionally hurts your feelings and I resonate with that

@Markness How does maintaining a focus on whoever these people are work for you?
It looks like you believe you need to strive against the wishes of others in order to feel
    motivated toward what you seek.
Not having a girlfriend and being depressed about it doesn’t make me an incel.

I agree. I hate those derogatory terms, especially when they're based on something as meaningless as virginity status. That doesn't define who a complex person is whatsoever

@Silhouette Mirage , ever hear of the 1970s? The messages from pop culture, the media, and peers was that if you were a virgin you were damaged, useless, unwanted, suspect. Employers did treat people differently if they were NOT in a relationship. (illegal now, not so much back then.) Yes, we were defined that way.
I have a headache from checking back in so many books. :(
    Forest Cat

I find that just sitting still and closing my eyes for a while often helps with headaches. I like to just sit or lie still and listen to the tv or music with my eyes closed. Eyes use a lot of effort so the head has to work when you use them.
    tree
    tree
    That doesn't seem likely.
Unless you were physically over burdened.
Which can happen, if you skip breakfast and then
    exert yourself.
I want the people who don’t want me to have a relationship to know that I won’t do what they want me to do and that is to stop looking.

Yes, you are very concerned about the opinions of other people.
