I can't "poke fun" or be poked fun at

I usually don't see teasing as funny-- I get hurt feelings pretty easily. But, being a slight hypocrite, I tease close family, but sometimes I go too far without realizing it until the person tells me.... I don't think I really poke fun at people I only know kinda well.

What subtype of autistic are you?

Thanks for the birthday wish! Yes, I'm not officially diagnosed, so I'm riddled with doubt :) I read all these accounts of other people and it's so easy to write off my own experiences because they don't 100% match up with theirs. But I relate to a million other things, and quizzes like this are...

Just getting so tired of 'Life'

I don't have too much to say, as I can't personally relate to your struggles, but I do know that dark thoughts don't last forever. Things will change (because life always changes), and you'll keep healing from all of the overwhelming things that have happened. If it's in the financial cards for...

What subtype of autistic are you?

60% passive 20% stilted 10% active but odd 10% aloof I really think I fit more with stilted than passive. I think I care a lot about social propriety, and in the past, I've been pretty proud of how well I "act neurotypical." Interesting though! I like taking a quiz that assumes ASD and...

    Been lurking for a while...

Welcome! That's great you finally have a diagnosis. I'm self-diagnosed-ish and I definitely relate to how you felt pre-diagnosis. There's just something about being 100% sure of something, I guess!

Self Awareness and High Functioning Autism

This is the one I was thinking of: Welcome to the Autistic Community! . I remember it covering quite a lot, although I don't know if it's the sort of thing you're looking for. I found it under Resources, and I think there's a lot of other stuff there as well!

Self Awareness and High Functioning Autism

You could lead him to ASAN's webpage (Autism Self-Advocacy Network). It's run by autistic adults in order to help autistic people, both children and adults. You don't get the same focus on non-autistic parents and loved ones. I think they have a pdf file all about the difficulties (and...

    What do you collect?

Language learning textbooks and books in foreign languages! I also collect books in general, but for some reason I don't consider it to be a real "collection." My language learning stuff, though, are things I'm very proud of. It's even funnier because I love learning languages (I speak French...

    Video games you're playing?

The remakes are really nice if you have a 3DS. The games are cleaned up and quite pretty, and it's nice to have them portable (I prefer handhelds, though, so maybe that's just me!)

    Video games you're playing?

Yeah, that's what I've noticed so far. Termina is soooo huge and detailed that Ocarina of Time seems a little empty by comparison!

    Video games you're playing?

I'm playing Majora's Mask on the 3DS-- I never played through it on the N64, but I'm actually liking it more than Ocarina of Time (also on the 3DS, never completed on the N64). I'm also playing Fantasy Life, which is quite addicting. I recently bought a guide to retro video game hardware, and...

If you could remove one fragment of Asd what would it be?

I don't know if this is ASD related, but the inability to handle stress/emotions. It seems like I can't easily tease apart what's bothering me, so I just crash and cry and lash out at everyone. I suppose also, the inability to handle change well. The two things together are a bit of problem...
