You Know You’re Autistic When…

...when you ask for a copy of your doctor reports and see that they have listed Loneliness as one of your symptoms.

...when you have to ask yourself what toys you would have liked as a kid and can only ever remember liking one or two toys.

...when a change in routine makes your brain feel physically heavy and your eyes get sad without your permission no matter how hard you try to mask. Or you meltdown once you have masked it so long you can't take it anymore.

I did not know at the time, at all, but when I look back at how I managed to hit myself in the back of the head in a way that made me fall over, when we had javelin throw in school, it probably confirms my diagnosis of autism, received many, many years later.

...when you spent hours as a kid lining up books in your bookcase by size and color and getting frustrated when you can't do both.

...when hide and seek is still a game you play as an adult but it has gotten a lot more dangerous and risky to the point that you even get lost and your significant other has to send out a search party to find you.

...when you keep getting schooled that you don't have to overshare everything in your whole life story with everyone because its simply not safe.
