Very sad news IMO, but the poor man was battling Alzheimer's for years before he sadly passed away.

The original 1971 Willy Wonka movie was iconic and one of his best known roles.
 
RIP Gene Wilder. I'll always think of Gene Wilder as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein. That's pronounced "Fronkensteen". :p
