What is Your Auditory Stim Today?

Aspies are famous for singing out commercial jingles or parts of songs repetitively.

Sometimes we just play that song or commercial jingle on a loop, over and over again.

Auditory stims calm us, desensitize us, an bring us joy.

One example is maybe playing the same pop song over and over. And singing the chorus out loud just randomly a few times an hour. Like out of nowhere I'll sing out the words: "Eternal day..." which is part of the chorus from a song I like.

Another example is singing a commercial jingle to yourself "I have a structured settlement and I need cash now. Call J.G. Wentworth- 877-Cash Now!" or "For a great low rate you can go online, go to the general and save some time!"

What song or jingle are you singing today?

Maybe post a Youtube video of the song or the commercial.

Today I'm randomly singing out "John Wayne's Teeth.. John Wayne's teeth heya hey". From the movie Smoke Signals.

The actors sing it out at the end of this scene. It's quite a cute scene.

And then after it, the YouTube video doesn't show it, but the Eaglebear singers sing it in the background of the next scene. I'll post the video of that too. I have been singing out that version of the song too.

Yesterday I was really stimming off of the bass on this song. Just listening to it on a loop over and over again and dancing a little.

I was very sensory overwhelmed and the moody repetitive guitar and bass really put me in a calmer space.
