Please don't feel funny. I am the same way. I get used to something being a certain way and I can't really vary from the original. The first time I learned about water cooling the body faster than air, the number given was 26. The Coast Guard says water cools the body 25 times faster than air. Something in me gets twisted up every time I hear some one say 25 or I have to say 25. I am aspie and I stick to the first version of what I learn. I knew a guy who lived in one city but my first impression was the he lived in another and I could never change my mind about it.
People saying "dot" when referring to a decimal has been bugging me since 1995. Seals and seal lions are totally different, not even related, but people use the term interchangeably. "They're" means 'they are', "their" is possessive. Once rope is attached to something it is a "line" not rope. These things bother me every day but it's because I am aspie. My brain is all about details. They are more important than people and I feel closer to them. I understand about you and Hertz. Fine with me
