Things only you would get upset about

Librarians who can't seem to tell the difference between fantasy and science fiction. It's not that difficult. Books with dragons on the cover should not be in the sci-fi section.

Bookstores tend to do the same, and I have a couple of times complained about it to the shopkeeper. Fantasy and science fiction are completely different genres; to me that fact is as obvious as the difference between Mars and the Moon.

Those anime full fight videos on Youtube that supposedly cut all the crap out! They cut out the flashbacks and the drama and plot. I don't know why they don't this and I think I get upset about this because I become so involved in the series and caught up in the dramatic moments as well...

There's more to Naruto and Dragon Ball Z then all the violent fighting ! I'm sorry that the drama and plot is too complex for them and that they only care about characters hitting and killing each other ! :|

The fact that January only got to be the first month of the year because it was named after the goddess of entryways. Big whoop. Let Mars have his glory so September, October, and November can make sense again.

Also, reduce May and December to thirty days so February can be thirty and 31 on leap years.

Uranus. The pronunciation is embarrassing and it only got that name per request by someone who wanted it named after the father of Saturn. Uranus is only the Latin name for the Greek sky god Ouranos. How about renaming it Caelus, after the actual Roman sky god?

As a bonus, how about naming the sun Helios?

Going through this topic, I guess it upsets me I don't get upset and worked up over any of these things in general.

Probably says something on how much I don't care for "the real world" and how absorbed I am in my own world.

Well I got upset over the new James Bond films because it didn't follow the old formula and didn't felt like a traditional Bond film at all :(

That is too funny! (Regarding Uranus) What about the word Anal Retentive? Or Anal for short. Who comes up with these words?

The fact that they include people born since 1995 as Millennials. Those are Homelanders. The name Millennial relates to the turn of the millennium, which we millennials found significant. Those too young to remember the year 2001 can't be Millennials.

This History Channel series about the World Wars isn't making me a fan.

Just too many visual technical errors....ugh.

Have you ever seen WWII in color yet ? I think you might like the documentary :D
Yes, several times....but then that involves almost exclusively real combat footage. No hokey recreations.

I'm a World War Two junkie....not much on the subject I haven't seen on television or film.

Maybe you've just learned to focus on what's important for you and not waste time on stuff you can't do anything about.

That being said, I used to get annoyed everything I saw cat food, with "chicken and poultry", because chicken is poultry, so it should be "chicken and other poultry". But I really don't give a flying **** about that stuff anymore. The world's obviously far from faultless, which is fine by me, 'cause I have a lot of faults myself.

Oh no, I've just been able to turn down the compulsively putting on WWII docu's. Must resist. Vive la resistance. :)
Maybe just a quick look at The Greatest Raid Of All wouldn't do much harm.

Sounds like a marketing trick to make a product sound like it has more than it really does XD

Yep, I remember building a model of the HMS Campbeltown in the 60s. Loved those old four-stackers ;)

I had a cat once who had a weird allergy to fish. Any cat food with fish in it made her hair fall out. The problem is 90% of all cat food has fish in it, so it was very hard finding food for her.

certain words and phrases bug me, such as "not unlike". Why don't they just say "like"? The word "complementary" that's used at many hotels. Why don't they just say "free"?

Something slightly (maybe?) off topic I recently discovered on wikipedia that I haven't found anyone else yet that cares: it's not Pandora's box. It's actually a jar. It was mistranslated in the 16th century when the latin translator mixed up the greek word for jar, "pithos", and the greek word for box, "pyxis". It makes sense when you think about it, because in the originally story Pandora carried around the jar, and it would be tough to lug around a massive box. Since I learned about this, anytime someone says "Pandora's box" it bugs me.

Lastly, I read a bunch of history stuff, and when I talk about some of things I read to others, no one seems to care. Things like how Richard III of England wasn't a bad guy, King Henry the VII of England launched a slander campaign against him. Or how we (America) treated the Kingdom of Hawaii when we overthrew their queen by claiming she was a "barbarian" and then annexing Hawaii. Does anyone else care?

Upcycling. For those unaware, upcycling is taking something you would normally throw away and repurpose it to make it something new, and it usually seems to be something decorative, not useful. In particular, I see all over the internet people cutting up toilet paper rolls to hang them on their wall. If that sounds bizarre, it is.
The problem I have is that you are taking something that's incredibly biodegradable and covering it with chemicals that make it essentially poisonous. The point is to keep stuff out of landfills, right? Who is going to look at this a year from now and not want to throw it away? Only now you've covered it in glue and spray paint which will leach into the ground. Way to go.

I dislike it when people say "hertz" when referring to sound waves. that is a term properly reserved for EM waves.
