My dad has a very "this is how I am, get over it" attitude that I've inherited and none too shy about displaying. When I was aware of why I had some of socially unacceptable behaviours (aside from taking after my dad on most things, heehee), all it gave me was a glimmer of hope to explain myself better to those willing to listen, and a more comprehensive starting point to learn how to better guide a bad situation to be as pleasant as possible for me and the less understanding people I know. Thankfully, most folks I encounter are normal ol' folks that are mildly curious about why I feel the way I do about some things and are over all good people who'd rather compromise than have everything their way. And even better, they tend to agree that those really demanding, narrow-minded types are annoying because they're usually bossy and tell everybody how to live their life.
