Temples and Synagogues use in the Bible

Almost everyone I know was raised in the Christian faith so I know very little about Judaism.

A friend's electric stove stopped working and she couldn't figure out why. She finally hired someone to repair it, and he discovered that she had somehow accidently punched in a code that prevented the stove from working. It was a code for Jewish households to lock the stove on the Sabbath so cooking couldn't take place!

As a basic rule, Jewish law permits food to cook on the Sabbath, so long as I set it all up beforehand to happen on its own. The exact rules are quite complex. Some of the big appliances manufacturers include a Sabbath Mode in their products, designed in consultation with rabbis.

The temple if i remember correctly had the 'Holy place' and the 'Holiest place' idk if that the correct word on english, but after Jesus resurrection, we also can enter the 'Holiest place' in the spirit if we are in Gods presence. Before Jesus, only some select priest could enter and if he was in sin he could die.

That is why the veil of the temple, was broken miraculously after Jesus resurrection.
So beautifully written, I had to comment. Thank you for posting.
I am taking it now that the preacher I heard wasn't being serious about Priests dying after going into see the Divine Presence.
Very interesting about the cooker being set and read it is a fact as well.

Does anyone here keep strictly kosher or halaal? (Are differences in kosher and halal) Are all food items you buy havi wheat having kosher stamp or only animal by-products?
How does kosher affect factory farming and what kind benefits are on offer?

The Christians read watered down version of bible, here you may learn that God gave laws to protect us, breaking such laws can lead to health risks. So laws actually there to protect us, but non-religious Jews don't always follow strict guidelines.

I do not know about that, well yes I do know about what Kosher and Halal are but I follow neither. But about Jesus I read that he didn't eat pork. Some church's forbid pork as well. There are certain food groups I wouldn't eat myself. I don't eat pork for one or red meat. But as a Christian God has said all food is fit to be eaten, not those words but I am a bit tired now. But what is not to be eaten is from under the sea and hoofs is this pork connection. What those are under the sea I have no real idea. I have read that some Christians avoid shrimp as not being Biblical. Many Catholics will only eat fish on a Friday. When I read that Jesus didn't eat pork and blessed some church's that didn't, it put me off for life.

This may upset the gentiles, but pork and certain shellfish are considered unclean, as history taught us that there are worms in pork fat that cause hepatitis.
As in laws of temple, is wheat kosher?
Much debate in permitting divorce but adultery causes STD
Catholics follow lent which respects Jesus teaching on fisherman of men, Christianity is not accepted by Catholics either since it allows for sin.

To conclude:
The devil was deceive people, and in last days even the church will no longer bear symbol of God. Man will be lied to by demons such as definition of adultery.

I can't personally just marry anyone, I need to get to know them, which I am guilty of adultery for pre-marital sex. But I think can know someone without sleeping with them. But I wasn't religious in my youth.

If you look up the current practices of Judaism and the dates they became part of the religion, you'd probably be surprised.

If I could speak on topic of religion, but not synagogue.

We don't know which is forbidden tree, gives knowledge between good/evil but I'm thinking it must be a type of nut tree with first natural known pesticides built into nuts
Nut guru thread is when I finally realised it
Well according to the Bible the Garden of Eden was a place Adam and Eve lived in before being transferred to Earth so I don't think it has the same flora or fauna, and that place was sort of a mythical realm where trees could be enchanted whereas here we have no good reason to believe that the supernatural exists, having zero evidence and having tested for stuff. The healings priests do have been staged and people healed are in on it.

Then thanks to the massive evidence of evolution we have, which can be found with a simple Google search, the biblical story about Adam and Eve has been dismantled, as humans have evolved from single cell organisms and share a common ancestor with every live being on Earth.

But for the fun of it, you might want to look into the eldest tree life forms on Earth, back when dinosaurs were around, they're pretty cool and have seeds that are huge that could get through their digestive systems.

I took some time and read Leviticus 11 about dietary laws. Jesus didn’t eat pork or any other unclean animal which God forbid in the Old Testament. I always follow what Jesus did. I was close yesterday with the hoofs. I pretty much knew this but needed a bit of a refresher course in it. I have answered my questions now around foods from below the sea etc. There is some guidance in the New Testament also in the Book of Acts 15:29.
We can all make our own choices.
The Catholic observation of Friday by eating fish is about the crucifixion of Jesus.
I found out my answer to the question on the seaweed I raised in another thread in Genesis 1:29-30 as well.

Crash refresher course.

I think to sum up description is on basis of food chain and what it eats. Science has realised that a fox isn't food for us, as it eats other things than curd.
Some ancient tribes believed eating a scorpion will give you its power, some have found safe ways to do this however it's not wise decision, but could always test the faith and be in next history article on another outbreak of some sort, hepatitis or town gone crazy from moldy bread, somehow it's recorded in bible.

If evolution over long time has replaced creation, and some believe their ancestors are the apes then 'amazing'
Bhagavad Gita is collection of stories, also similar in human outline in our lives and portrays jealousy between brothers. I think I trust morals in bible, not sure if watch crooky priests perform miracles on stage.
I'm not being nasty but some people should really try to read a bible as left own devices, is not good idea.
Sorry

We have some very amazing old trees still standing in Knysna, some think still elephants. Staunch collector of national geographics so I know about trees you speak of, ye, amazing.
Seen many crooky Christian priests and weird cults, heard of incest and even cannibals that came from the west (not that long ago could say 100 years)
No plans to join clu-clux and be related to Billy Bob via other members in too many ways, display ways to kill the black man, not my cup of espresso.
And other crookys, lot of people that shouldn't give all your money too.

I think much of the Bible is allegorical and shouldn't be interpreted literally. Jesus often taught in parables.

As I mentioned regards food we all have to make choices for ourselves. I came across this passage from the Bible which I thought might be useful in this thread from Romans 14:1-23.

"One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind".

I had such a beautiful brief dream like about me and the above topic and God like telling me what is expected of me. It helped me so much.

Streetwise, do try and take care of yourself.

Moving on-
I decided to explore a bit further myself about the seaweed question in time. I don’t want to do something I really didn’t want to without fully researching it myself. You know with autism we have our own rituals many of us around food and to stop something just like that for some things may be harder than it is for a typical person. When your diet is so limited as well and disturbed by an eating disorder, you have to be sensible as well.

So basically I was having my ritual food including my seaweed which I was distressed about somewhat, but I made my decision.

I dozed of on my sofa for a few minutes and my food was around me. It was like I was being spoken to in my dream and a voice said you know don’t have to do this and I was so in distress in myself and I was just a child and I said I want to almost in tears. It was obvious the little girl had disabilities.

We have to take care of ourselves. I will review things properly I need to and make choices, but I won’t be led by just one page on the internet.

Take care of you.

I think allegorical would be in the sense people were for a long time misled about the truth through the lies people now call parables in the bible until science showed us the way. The teachings about slavery are very dangerous concepts that humans have managed on their own to abolish, against the damage of the teachings of the scriptures.

It's like that thing where you find out the truth and you move to think another thing that's just as unknown. Also called cherry-picking, what we do with our mind when we don't want to let go of the familiar.
