Here's a practical joke I managed to catch on camera. It was about 18 months after I met Brett. We were sitting in a coffee shop in Launceston, drinking iced coffees, when he did a quick mock mosquito impersonation. I got the camera out pretending I was going to take a photograph, but what I was really doing...was filming...and the moment this dawns on him is one of the funniest things I've ever caught on film...

And though it says Hobart, it was actually at Cataract Gorge, Launceston - I remember it very well! :)

Here's a sketch on marriage counselling from the classic late 1990s Australian series Seachange, which pointed a fine lens at common Australian foibles. Bob Jelly here represents a man barely evolved above cave-man level; unfortunately we have quite a few like that here - and Heather his long-suffering wife, acutely in need of emancipation. Delightfully acted...

Jean-Paul Sartre is in a café, revising his draft of Being and Nothingness.

He says to the waitress, "I'd like a cup of coffee, please, with no cream."

The waitress replies, "I'm sorry, sir, but we've got no cream. How about with no milk?"

For the non-philosophy nerds among us, Sartre is a famous existentialist philosopher, playwright and author who declined a Nobel prize in literature (just saving Tree a bit of work on her birthday).

"we're not talking about a relationship here, we're talking about marriage. Relationships are where you have fun."
Thanks for video.

Andy Capp is pretty much like the guy in the video and Flo is definitely his long suffering wife. You can't help but feel sorry for Flo or wonder why she puts up with Andy at all. At least her mother has some sense...

I like this video from Alas Smith and Jones. Are women really that sensitive about their behind? :p

Speaking of, this week's Existential Comic is out... ;)

Wake Up, Sartre
