I’ve had a cold since Thursday night and today it transitioned into my voice being lost/hoarse and crappy for a few days. Does that mean I’m getting over it?

Common colds have a progression, affecting different parts of the body at different times: nose, throat, chest. So a transition is normal. Sounds like it's running its course.

An old saying goes, "If you treat a cold, it will take seven days; if you do not treat a cold, it will take a week."

;)

Try gargling warm salt water. It’s good to flush out all the bacteria that is making your voice hoarse. I hope you feel better!

Yes, from what I vagually remember lol I have been free from all that for many years and the few times, I did get a catchy throat, it went fast.

Immunity is a wonderful feat of human engineering, which wards off all kinds of nasties.

I've had sinusitis. Not fun. Developed into having a swollen parotid gland. Finally got help from a nurse practitioner who prescribed me amoxicillin. Cleared up in about two and a half days.
I’ll keep an eye out if this happens more than once. I texted this to my mom to let her know. I’ll let my dad know later. Thanks for the heads up :)

Seemed a simple enough thing for me to get over with the right antibiotics. But in typical fashion I suffered longer than I needed to with a very painful and swollen jaw apart from all the usual cold symptoms.

Whatever you have, I hope it goes away soon for you.

Sinusitis is evil. All l could do was sleep it off. I had horrible headaches. And very run down. I use to average about one every year. Finally outgrew it. The doctor said you can live in a place for a long time and still develop allergies to where you live. I finally don't suffer from this.
