This is but isn't a question about myself.
Years ago (mid 1990's) when I went to a small rural college one student came from a big city (I was also a big city student), but he was very different, the way he acted and what I recall the most at the time, his tendency to want to try to find a word that rhymed with another... Most of the other students didn't know what to think about him and he had few friends, I didn't really understand him either but made an effort to become a friend and just simply accept him...
I was there for two years, he was there for my last year, we stayed in contact after we both moved back to our respective big cities, both three hours drive apart from each other...
In the late 90's he was having tremendous trouble getting a job, he had a job at a fast food place he was struggling with, he clearly had a mental impairment... I would often call him up late at night/early mornings, we would have epic phone calls, I mean epic, I just tried to listen and say a few things here and there... Over a couple of years I saw real improvement with him, for a short time he even moved to my city, then I moved to another province halfway across Canada for three years, before moving back home...
At that point I lost contact with him, and have occasionally surfed social media to track him down, see what he's up to... I recently found him on FB, actually had a brief conversation on the phone with him tonight, sounds like he doesn't do social media much
My point? If any... I want to catch up with him after all those 17 years, and after tonight it sounds like he wants, although he wasn't looking for me really... I know about my Asperger's which I didn't know back then, wondering what the tendency to rhyme like he did sounds like he has? Suppose I could ask him, but doing some possible "scouting", and he did get over the need to rhyme constantly
