I saw someone on tv years ago explaining how to make a fire-whirl similar to that one. You take several containers or pans with some kind of flammable liquid. And you place those containers in a big L shape. Then you light it on fire and the L shape pulls air in towards the fire, feeding it, in the right way to make it spin. It's amazing what you can learn from tv.

Interesting, thanks for posting. The one I posted above is just from a natural grass fire, there's a video of it somewhere out there too, it was on the news a couple of months back.

I think what I saw was someone trying to explain how wind and fire works and why grass fires sometimes turn into those whirls. It had something to do with that.
