I don’t get this one. Why does Mariah Carey need to be evaded?
At this time of year the challenge is evading her Christmas song. Played to death every year just like the others. Another of the songs played to death is by a band called Wham hence Whamageddon which gets less airtime.

Did you see those Swedes last year who hated that Wham Christmas song so much that they wanted to buy the rights to it so they could destroy it and never hear it again? That was pure funny. And they were serious about it. :)

A lot of things happening in Iceland today. Fire and sulphur and the gates of hell opening. :fearscream: Or something like that.
I saw on a few different channels, one end of that rift is only 3 Km from Grindavik. It looks like most of the lava is flowing north, away from the town, but those people are having a very stressful Christams holiday.

Meanwhile in Australia, Western Australia and New South Wales have massive bush fires, the one in New South Wales is so big that it's created it's own weather system. Northern Queensland is all under water after a cyclone, Adelaide is still cold like winter and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Melbourne gets snow across the northern suburbs. Just another Aussie summer. :)

A bush fire so big it created its own weather system? I'll bet you hardy Australians call that a normal tuesday afternoon. ;)

About Iceland, there is a famous story about a town in Iceland that had a massive volcano erruption. And the people who lived there ran back and forth on the very hot crust of the lava and built barriers and rescued people and animals and actually saved the town. For the Icelanders a volcano erupting is just a normal afternoon. They're used to it. :D

John McPhee, a great author, wrote about it in his book The Control of Nature. Quite exciting.
