Over-talking?

I was just thinking today how I have tried to get around the whole too quiet thing by just saying stuff that jumps to mind. I only use it on acquaintances because I never know what to say anyway and just don't want to come across mean. It's normally trivial like "oh, the weather today" or "just yesterday when I was here...". It's a trick I learned from my grandpa.
Anyway...I do struggle at times to figure out what to leave out of a conversation if I manage to contribute more than yes, that's good, no, I don't know etc.

ALL. THE. TIME.

I feel that when I need to explain something and its reason, it needs to be as detailed as possible, probably because I have been told all my life that my thoughts weren't clear.

I am highly verbal. Sometimes it's a curse. I feel ignored often because of it, sometimes I feel like taking an oath of silence just to get back at everyone. But I have to talk. Family needs me. -_-
