I live in an apartment now and one morning there was waves of different machinery. Between the apartment, and the other facility by my window.
First was a booming dump truck, that one hurt. Next, leaf blowers. Leaf blowers turn me into an evil person. They make me nauseous. THEN, weed hacker. The last wave was lawn mowers. All within 4 hour period while I was trying to sleep. Coupled with being on my period, emotionally I was out for blood. Even when I got in the shower, from the shower I could hear another leaf blower out in the distance.
Luckily, it's not every morning. But I feel like it's one more thing to get in the way of my goal to heal, and usually there is at least something active everyday (leaf blowers). Well, and I just think it's dumb. I can hear a voice of criticism telling me that it's necessary maintenance. But I feel like there are countries out there that wouldn't allow it to be this bad. The leaf blowers almost seem like they're having fun and sort of "rev" it up. *cries*
I guess, it makes a world of difference where I live. I used to live on a remote property and I felt GOOD. I mean, I almost feel like I can hear electricity. Gotta get one of those autism ear sound reducer thingy's to try.
What are your living situation with noise and how do you deal with it?
