White smoke! The Catholic Church has elected a new Pope. Formerly Cardinal Robert Provost.

- Of the United States of America.

OMG....quite a shock, let alone in only the second day of the conclave. Good to see that he is a progressive supporter of Pope Francis. My most basic concern of who may be the next man to walk in the "shoes of the fisherman".

I had to look it up on Reuters, thinking it was some kind of joke.

He has spent much of his ministry in Peru, from what I understand. Ideologically, he may be cut from much of the same cloth (no pun intended) as his predecessor-a focus on true kindness and assistance to the poor and marginalized, in line with Jesus's words in Matthew 25 (I think): For as you have done it to the least of them, you have done it to me. It's quite a change from the authoritarian, rightist focus of JP2 and Benedict XVI of strict adherence to traditional moral and doctrinal purity.

I should note that the Prophecy Of The Popes has at last been proven to be a fraud. Pope Francis was supposed to be "Peter of Rome", after whose reign "the city of the seven hills shall be destroyed and the terrible judge will judge his people". The city of the seven hills is still here, and the pope who was not supposed to be sits on the Throne of Peter. In the Bible divination (telling the future) is a sin and in one of Paul's letters he talks about chasing a demon from a fortuneteller after which she loses her ability.

The church as a whole does seem to be moving ideologically in a different direction. But time will tell as to how much and how far it will ultimately go.

But to pick an American as the Holy Father....that seems off the Vatican rails in itself. Still hard to process.

Then again to those cardinals truly dedicated to a more progressive agenda, perhaps one of them would say in Latin, "If you're gonna be a bear, be a grizzly!" o_O

Jesus said, that the path to life is narrow, progressives in churches are green lighting sin, and calling bad good and good bad, is terrible to do that in the eyes of God.

RIP Dear Pope Frances

The Jews were God's chosen people.
The Gentiles were grafted into their Olive tree.
The Jews will be grafted back in again (Romans 11:11-31).

Catholics are also grafted into the olive tree with the Gentile’s

Olive trees are favoured in the Catholic faith as they represent reconciliation, peace and justice

Some of the Pope’s have been very fond of planting olive trees. I await to see what Pope Louis will plant and good luck to him who is clearly graced and upholded by God’s blessing. This unique servant of God may he shine some light into the Catholic church.
