hello, Iv suspected I may have high functioning autism for a while now but I keep going back and forth with it. But iv come to the terms that it’s most likely true due to my inability to conversate with social cues etc or be fast in conversations. I would like to chat with others and see if we share common difficulties :)

Hello and warm wellcome to the forums :)

Only a cert evaluation can determan IF and if so what possible diagnose you may have. And the diffent " iccues" you have described is present in among others both ADHD as well as Asberger and ASD

Welcome!

Having social difficulties is not enough. There are other criteria that must be met to be diagnosed with ASD. I recommend that, as @Sarah S said, you visit a specialist, or check the criteria in DSM V. I attached 3 pages from it. However, there are 10 pages about autism in DSM V.

Hi and Welcome

There are a number of online tests which can give you an indication as to whether you are autistic/Aspergers. I got a professional opinion

Hi Butterfly and welcome. There are many self diagnosed and un-diagnosed autists out there AND on here. The social aspect is one difficulty many of us have. It's hard to go through a list on one thread, maybe it would help you to go through past threads and read through some and see how you relate. Being officially diagnosed does not make you autistic :), if you are you are, if not not. I struggled my entire life and never knew why until a few years ago. I got a diagnosis and learning about autism helped me learn why I struggled with things like I did. There's lots of articles on adult s with autism/aspergers and some specific to adult females with aspergers/autism, which looks a little different than the autistic male. Hope this has been helpful.

Quite a few of us are self-diagnosed only. There can be quite a bit of overlap between all the so called conditions, disorders and even NT behaviors, and the process of identification difficult even for professionals. Do your research and approach it with an open mind and see where it leads you. For me, interacting with other people on the spectrum was a very useful step in making the determination.

Welcome to the forums!
There is a lot you can read about and how others respond to various issues.
Always feel free to ask questions. You'll get a variety of answers.
