Hi everyone, I’m Els, new here, recently had the amazing revelation that I’m most likely high functioning autistic/Aspergers and am now thoroughly researching everything to go get a formal diagnosis in the new year.

I’m 30 so this has come as a shock as I’ve always just been on with being a little weird and having my odd quirks, to read of a whole group of people who think and behave exactly the same and u defat and my logic perfectly is absolutely fantastic.

I struggle with maintaining friends and am just looking for people to chat who get me a little. I’m 30, live with my parents & my cat, fully qualified nurse by some miracle. Currently sperging out about the podcast sperging out and pusheen the cat. Looking to chat about anything and everything from the daft to the deep.

Hi @Els C and welcome :)
It's a little bit quieter here right now as is the whole social internet, but you'll find plenty of people to meet and talk to here. It's one of the friendliest communities I've ever seen on the Web. Heck, if I was NT and found this place I'd still want to sign up!

Hi Sarah! I’m just fascinated to find if I can find fellow asd peeps more relatable than NTs who I find confusing and they find me very strange

Hi there Els :) Yes i have found that its easier for me as well to remain friends with those with same or similar diagnosis as i have as well as also broken or lost souls as my self .And the simple reason is that were al bacilky in the same boat so to say and so we can easier relate to eatchoder and understand eatchoder :) (and like you i have NEVER been able to fit in anywhere from birth to adult hood ) either and regarded and treated as an idiot i RL. and NOT that many REEL friends and had to learn and accept my self as a Lone wolf

@Els C you've come to the right place :) There's plenty of Brits here along with people from all over the world. It won't take much to feel welcome here :)

Hello Els, welcome to the forums! This is a great place to come to when you want to talk to people who get you and understand, plus everyone is really friendly too :) I'm sure you will find some friends and people to relate to on here!

Hey Els, welcome! I love your Pusheen tattoo. I have a tiny Pusheen plushie on my desk to keep me company. I love hearing from other Aspies in the medical field, I'm 32 and am a medical doctor :)

Welcome Els!
I found this place shortly after I was diagnosed at age 58!
It's great to have so many that are each different yet so much alike.

I'm a retired pharmacist and welcome talk about the medical field and psychology also.
Love Pusheen.
I think you'll like it here.
