One of my latest obsessions has been the MBTI. I'm currently on a psychology binge, researching all things personality related. I believe I'm an INFP, at least thats what most of the tests say. I also identify well with INTP and have gotten that result on certaintests. I've literally been up all night trying to figure out which of those two types that I am :p. I've gone as far as memorizing all of the sixteen types and the order of their cognitive functions. I'm also trying to see if I can find a pattern between certain types and Aspergers syndrome or other neurological abnormalities.

What are you're types?

If you don't know you can take the tests here:

I tried the first test and thought that it was rather silly. I don't think you can reliably pigeonhole people so easily.

I'm INTP, but can relate to some of the INFP traits because my mom is INFP, and we've had a dysfunctionally enmeshed relationship most of my life (finding some freedom now, which revealed the T portion way more clearly for me).

Here are some good links for INFP vs INTP:

...and this is my favorite grid for showing how the types relate to each other:

MBTIfunctions.png

Extravert(62%) iNtuitive(7%) Thinking(84%) Perceiving(19%) ENTP

Extraverted 60% Intuitive 76% Thinking 54% Prospective 29% Assertive 27% ENTP-A

INTJ
Introvert(28%) iNtuitive(69%) Thinking(28%) Judging(22%)
  • You have moderate preference of Introversion over Extraversion (28%)
  • You have distinct preference of Intuition over Sensing (69%)
  • You have moderate preference of Thinking over Feeling (28%)
  • You have slight preference of Judging over Perceiving (22%)
Your personality type is:
Architect (INTJ-T)

And now... now we wait.

I actually find these results quite surprising. I always thought of myself as more of the artsy empathic type. If I recall correctly I scored as an ENTP the last time I took such a test. The writeups on INTJs also fail to describe me on many counts. I am not confident, decisive, or even that independent. I will, however, admit to being a non-conformist who overanalyses and is clueless in romance.

I always come up INTP. I would say it is accurate, and when I look at the career choices mentioned, my "career", while difficult to name, involves education, natural sciences, computer science and engineering.

And some have said mixing INTP with being a Pieces and an Aspie makes the package complete.
