MTHFR treatment protocol, anyone?

Warmheart

Something nerdy this way comes

After considerable thought, I'm going to seek testing for the MTHFR gene mutation. It's common in autism, and in people with migraines. Testing may not be co reed by insurance. If not, I will ask if my doctor us willing to begin treatment anyway. The protocol is an adjust, net in nutrient supplementation such as folic acid or folate, plus some others to help improve bioavailability/absorption.

My friend's godson, who is autistic, has had testing (positive), and responded really well to treatment.

Has anyone else done this treatment protocol for MTHFR gene mutation?
Could you describe it, and how it went for you? Thanks in advance! :)

It looks like a bad swear word. :flushed:

That is what Mr WereBear and I call it! Ironically, he is NT, has a chronic illness; and tested positive. I did not.

Since estimates run up to 40% of the population, it doesn't have anything to do with autism, I think. It's like having autism and hay fever.

Mr WereBear feels better when he sticks to his protocol: gluten free eating, methylated B vitamins, no processed foods. This probably lurked undetected for thousands of years because, prior to industrial food, no one had a vulnerability.

Now, they do.

Sometimes blood is drawn when I use my version of that word, but for a totally different reason ;):p
