Looking for tools or apps

hey!
so I’m autistic + adhd and honestly just tired of trying 10 different apps that all feel the same. most planners either overwhelm me or I dropped them after 2 days.
I found only one that’s helping me stick with it. it’s called Mindory app. it doesn’t stress me out like the others. it’s quite nice, has this ai chat thing , tracks stress and helps me to organize my day, which is kinda cool. the planner part actually makes sense to my brain for once. Maybe this could be interesting for others too. Idk if it's available on Android, but I have ios.
anyone else found something more coaching-like tho? my therapist barely has time lately and I feel like I need something that helps me reflect more deeply.
I already use Mindory as said and it really helps with planning + stress, but they don’t really do coaching (yet?) so I’m kinda looking for something to go along with it.

Welcome! I have both ASD and ADHD as well, but I'm afraid I can't help with this because I don't use any such apps at all.

Planning apps may provide some of the mechanics of maintaining an orderly life. However I doubt any of them contain methods of building the discipline from within one needs to successfully make use of them.

However there are things you can do along such lines:

How to Be More Disciplined

I used ChatGPT for a while. I told it what I needed to do, asked it to recommend priorities and provide positive comments to help me. It really worked pretty well for a while. Then one day I got mad at it and canceled the whole thing. Pretty funny if you think about it.

I have been complaining about this (to myself) for years. It seems to that far too many, if not most, apps and software is not intuitive to use. If this were generally true for everybody, the problem would have been corrected long ago. I suspect that because I (or we) think and see things differently, the intuitive nature is lost. I get the the impression that the developers think that since THEY know how to use it, then EVERYBODY will know how to use it, because it is so simple for them. In the same vein, the writers of manuals believe since THEY know where all the information is, then EVERYBODY knows, and detailed indexes are not needed. Frequently, they reference tabs and menus I cannot see on screen, and don't tell me where to find them. Even looking it up on line rarely gets me the answers I need quickly.

Does anybody else have this problem?

I guess I am pre-app, but did find the need for some tangible reminders which I handled by notes in my pocket. Even today I still write down important things to remember on notes kept where I make my tea and coffee during the day.

I've had to write notes to remember things before.

Are you medicated for your ADHD? If not, you might want to consider starting that. ADHDers need to calm the "brain noise" in order to focus on a task.

You're right, there are side effects to consider, as there are with most medications. That's why a person would need to work closely with their doctor to find the right medication with the right dosage that works the way the patient needs it do with the least amount of side effects.

We all have to make our own decisions but personally I think the medications do more harm than good.

I tried Ritalin and methylphenidate. They worked well short term, but I developed a tolerance, so they had to keep upping the dose. I saw where this was going, and stopped altogether. Now, I keep some methylphenidate and only take it when needed for special circumstances. I have used it maybe five times in the last ten years.

I like computers & programming, but I use an old-school weekly pocket planner that I get every year from my business bank.
