(Life-skills) Could someone help me understand internet plan

Thank you Vinca :-)

I appreciate the heart.

I took the post down because I later thought I had asked something too awkward. I wish there was a Siri program for aspies. I could ask Siri what seems a simple question for everyone else but she would have the like-skills answer.

Asking for help can be difficult and it takes courage. I think you are brave to ask for help and that there will be other members who can identify with the difficulty that you described :)

The type of information you were talking about is something that I find difficult to understand myself unless it's presented in a very basic a clear manner (which often isn't the case for those types of companies), so I didn't think I could be of any assistance but could identify with finding something a huge challenge that is probably straightforward to many people.

Some Ideas

-Thinking along the same lines as your idea about a Siri program for Aspies, you could try doing a google search for "how to understand 'x' " and then putting the topic you want to understand in place of 'x'. There may be some articles in the search results that explain/provides information about the topic.

-If you felt uncomfortable about asking fro help with a topic via a post, you could start a PM with a member/members you feel comfortable sharing with and who you think may be able to offer some advice.

Thank you, I think your suggestion about using Google is an excellent idea. I had not thought of using it that way or that simple search query. That might be really helpful :-)

grommet, did you ever get this sorted out? I was away last week but am just seeing your post. I would be happy to help if I could!

Aww. I understand your frustration. I think everyone struggles with that sort of thing when it's outside of your comfort zone. For me getting my car serviced or repaired is a minefield of confusion. The same with getting a haircut, I'm like "don't ask me questions, just make me look handsome!" Like if I'm flying somewhere the pilot doesn't pop out to ask me which way to fly, so why do barbers and mechanics have to involve me in doing their jobs?

Anyway I digress. Just wanted to say don't feel bad. I actually wanted to reply to your question but our internet packages here in the UK are sold very differently to yours in the US.

You pay line rental of about £18pm ($23) then you add the internet package you want. Usually...

Standard broadband 40GB cap (up to 16mbps) £0
Standard broadband unlimited (up to 16mbps) £5
Standard fibre (up to 36mbps) £10
Premium fibre (up to 72mbps) £20

So for me on standard fibre I pay about £28pm.

But then you can also add TV, mobile, etc. Not sure if this helps at all.
