I just now learned that there is a kind of cat called "Norwegian Forest Cat". It looks very similar to the Maine Coon. Is that where you get your username? Do Norwegian Forest Cats grow very large, like the Maine Coon?

Yeah that's where my username comes from. I just like them. The forest cat is actually Norway's national cat. :) They are special cats with a history that goes all the way back to the vikings. A long time ago they were known as "mountain-dwelling fairy cats", people thought they were supernatural because they were seen climbing up cliff walls other cats couldn't climb. They were mysterious cats living in the wild. I have had forest cats, they are popular here and in Sweden and France. They have such nice thick fur and special ear tufts. And they make special sounds, they chirp. They can get pretty big, like Maine Coon cats.

Some say Maine Coon cats are descendants from Forest cats and another unknown cat breed, someone did some DNA testing. They look so royal with their amazing fur and lions mane.
