I have noticed a bunch of people are are from WP and someone must have posted the link there or PMed it to them. Could it have been Superboyian?
 
Actually, all I ever did was leave advertisements on my facebook and the AS forums I go to, that's how it just grew but I didn't think that most of the people were from WP. :lol2:
 
A lot of these forums have the same members in I've noticed. It's like we all follow eachother like a group of friends or something.
 
I've never been on WP before. Is it worth becoming a member. Don't worry, I won't abandon this forum.
 
To be honest, if you have varied interests and you want to share all of them, go join WP. (Though you are really welcome to still visit Aspies Central at any time)

If not, if you just want to join a real community, stay put here. :)

You're free to join whatever forum you want.

I've never been a member of WP but I've heard a lot of bad stuff about it this last while. The only ever AS forum that I joined was Aspergic (ironically I found it through WP) and of course this forum, Aspies Central. Before Aspergic went down, there seemed to be a lot of people bashing WP and particularly the moderators of it.

It appears to me that some WP members have joined Aspies Central and so far the community is great here, regardless of what AS forum people are also a member of.

If you want to become a member of WP, you can. Alot of changed ever since the moderators got fired, it seems alot more cleaner lately so maybe it could be worth trying?
 
Going to other aspie forums, you get the background story on WP by members who used to go there or who were banned and you hear horror stories usually or personal reasons why they don't go to the forum. And that's how I know when a user is banned. There is a mod on the Psych Forums who wants nothing to do with WP so he always locks them when someone brings it up.
 
I think WP is like the marmite of the AS forums. People either love it or bash the hell out of it. Smaller forums tend to band together and ***** about them, especially ZOMGaspies.

I've noticed that. There was quite a lot of WP bashing on Aspergic that it all had to be merged into one thread. :lol2:

I currently remain neutral on WP. However, everything I read about it seems to be negative.

I first heard of it through negative reviews. Someone on youtube made a video about there being aspie supremicists on there and I though "is it really that bad???" but when I joined I actually liked it. There are some idiots on there but they're the minority.
 
I was actually banned from wrongplanet myself. It doesn't help to have a healthy sense of sarcasm and context in a place full of moderators with aspergers.

However, I think it is a very good forum. It has lots of different people, lots of different threads and is very interesting. I'd definately suggest that people make an account there if they haven't already.

And I remember it turned into a drama because I ranted about my issues there I had with one of the mods and a troll came to the forum and trolled me about my issues. No wonder Alex has a rule against bashing other forums.

When were you banned and who were you there?

Were you accused of personal attacks or what? Did you ever get warnings too?


I wonder if my sense of humor or sarcasm was seen as personal attacks or insults by two of the former mods? I never asked because I told him I don't wish to have future conversations with him and I felt I was talking to a brick wall. He just doesn't understand my point of view. He claimed he goes by what he has read about me in the global mods section and judges me based on my actions.

Do you mean this forum or Wrongplanet?

I was also a banned member there, only recently had my ban uplifted, could possibly be a glitch in the software if you had no warning, happened to me and weren't pleased.

Most of the moderators now got demodded. Maybe things might change, because I can just about see a little change there.
