Is Nathaniel Autistic Too ?

I watched the whole series and my wife brought it up too. And I agree.
The funny thing is that my son’s name is Nathaniel and he has Asperger’s too.
It could be that Matthew’s character is ASD and the actor portrayed it perfectly, but the actor playing Nathaniel is actually ASD and had trouble hiding it for the show.

I know that as someone with Asperger's, I see bits of myself in both of them.
If you look at them as both having ASD, it really makes since how Philip automatically took Matthew under his wing a bit so to speak because he was already used to being a friend to Nathaniel.
There are other aspects too though. For example, I have not met many neurotypicals who walked around wondering about things like whether bats could swim or not. Personally, I do wonder about such things and frequently procede to research the random topics that come to mind. In fact, when he said that on the show I ended up googling whether bats swim or not.
