Installing Linux/Ubuntu on a Chromebook PC

How would I go about this? I might possibly be doing a game design course at local College and then University (see my thread in the employment and education section) some time this year, and rather than buy a Windows PC to run Unity, I've been told it's possible to dual OS my Chromebook to run Unity on Linux or Ubuntu.
