I went to the psychiatrist

I was recently diagnosed and I absolutely shared how you felt about thinking they might say "You don't have autism'

When I was getting tested, he had a questionnaire that gave me a score of 1-4 based on how you answer the question from "strongly agree' to "strongly disagree" and once your score passes a certain point, the more sure that "test" has you have autism. There's a lot of questions and if you know the social symptoms of autism and think you have at least several of them, you will be scored as "might have autism" which is enough. So if are sure you have those symptoms, I really wouldn't worry about it.

I consider myself "normal" in terms of appearance to neurotypicals and I scored a 167, when 50 was "might be autistic" 75 being " likely to be autistic" and 100 being "very likely to have autism" and I think that alone is enough for a diagnosis, the other "tests" are just used to gauge your need level.
The Psychologist who diagnosed me said he knew I had autism just from speaking to me, and he just needed the tests for official reasons.

Tl;dr It's really easy to be diagnosed if you think you have autism and you shouldn't worry if they already said they think you have it.

I see. Thank you, that was really informative and reassuring. I feel more at ease now. I also remember doing tests like that online before so I kinda get the idea

Just so you know they only give me a piece of paper so I might /could get welfare benefits apart from that they told the doctor because the NHS lives for redtape I have a certain level of respect for psychiatry but not a huge amount .

in the UK you have the added snobbery that if you pay privately for a diagnosis ,the NHS don’t want to accept it !as they say the therapist only give you the diagnosis because you paid for it .They are unbelievable !they don’t have the time to help you ,yet if you pay for it they don’t like it.
That's so messed up

I really would disregard what those online "tests" give you as a score. There aren't enough questions. I scored "borderline autistic" on all of them despite the actual psychologist saying I had "severe" Asperger's. It's really a lot more comfortable of an environment and situation and you might be thinking, and I absolutely was thinking. Just be honest.

In Australia do they just immediately give you statins for high cholesterol ?in the UK the seem to do it if you are a certain age !but I think at another age they say either diet first or statins which I rather wouldn’t want.
I don't know what the rules are here but my experience around 2010-2015 was as stated. Each time it happened I would say 'let me think about it' and then I would decide not to go back and get the prescription, instead just trying to eat better. It took a little while, but eventually I did reduce it through diet. Luckily.

do you get nauseous if you smell cold cooked meat I keep wondering if it’s high cholesterol or if it’s an infection thanks

Oh yeah i know those aren't enough, i was just saying i get the idea since i've seen similar tests online

I don't think the smell would be any indicator re cholesterol level. It's always possible that meat - or any food - could be off though. But meat has it's own peculiar smell so I don't know @Streetwise. Sorry. Oh and in answer, no I don't get sick feeling by the smell of meat. I do find it an odd smell sometimes, other times it can be a nice smell (like a BBQ for example). Having said that, I don't eat meat so my feelings on the smell aren't wrapped in any concern re the cholesterol content or it's freshness.

Sorry to tell you,

but the neuropsychological test does not show ASD

I took their 5 hour long test and was referred for a
"more specific test because this test does not test for spectrum disorders".

Was written in the doctors notes

Neuropsychological exams test memory and motor

Maybe it's different in other countries? Cuz the psychiatrist I went to told me to do one of those, and when I searched about it it said that it is indeed used to diagnose autism (I'm brazilian btw)
