How has Spring/Summer 2020 fashion been so far?

With Fall/Winter end-of-season sales ongoing and Spring/Summer merchandise coming in, how do you think Spring/Summer 2020 has been?

I think it has been pretty good so far. I noticed more weather-appropriate merchandise being introduced in spring colors such as lightweight sweatshirts for the early part of the season. Also it seems like in menswear the purple-based shades of pink are back; they were previously popular in 2018, but then the trend shifted more towards peachy orange-based shades in 2019. Brighter shades of pink are also becoming popular in menswear; 2018 was more about pale shades of pink (remember the Fairy Tale pink that was predominant in IZOD's Spring 2018 collection)?

I'd say blue and white are colors I've noticed most.

It's January. Do these companies seriously start selling clothes meant for summer at this time of year?

Yes in fact. End-of-season sales on fall/winter clothes are ongoing right now to make room for spring/summer merchandise. End-of-season sales usually happen twice per year (January/February and July/August), the former to clear out fall/winter merchandise and the latter to clear out spring/summer merchandise.

I couldn't care less. It's still winter for cripes sake! They should still be selling winter stuff up here because you could always end up losing one of your gloves or your hat, and then you can't find any decent new ones in a store to replace them because they got all the worthless spring/summer junk out. Stupid and frustrating! You'd think in Canada they'd keep winter stuff out until March at least, but nooo!

Although the way things have going lately, those medieval-style plague doctor costumes seem to becoming pretty popular.

disappointed that women’s dresses are still basically a band going across the pubic bone you might as well not wear clothes if they’re going to be that short I keep hoping for styles like liberty in London or Laura Ashley

I'll be getting an overcoat for my suits in spring or summer I reckon. Should be a cheaper price with any luck.

I don't tend to do clothes shopping for a few years, and then spend a lot in a short space of time. It's mainly suits, tailor made shirts and shoes where I spend my money.

Outside of work I live in sweat pants and unbranded t shirts. Probably because I don't go out much, and when I do - I wear my 3 piece suits.

I've never enjoyed modern fashion, or trends in general. I find a lot of clothes lack any degree of subtlety. Loud colours, gaudy prints and impractical garments. I remind myself that there are people put there who this clothing caters to. Each to their own and all that jazz.

That is what online shopping is for. There are plenty of fall/winter clothes available year-round online. Also, you could try REI which sells winter clothes year-round.

I learned maybe 4 decades ago that if you take a late-summer vacation and forget to bring your swimsuit, you could be out of luck finding any for sale in local stores.

Your pattern and mine are similar. Although women's clothing has more trends and fads, I buy a certain type of dress or outfit that was never IN style, so it can never go OUT of style. Investment dressing.

I never had much interest in fashion when I was younger and, honestly, I know very little about it. That's why I quite enjoy your posts on the topic - they make me think from a different angle.

Also, for Spring/Summer 2020, tropical prints are still in, but one thing I noticed this year compared to the previous three years is that there are less bird and pineapple prints and more floral prints.
