I can let go easier and faster if the person was toxic. It becomes harder to let go if the connection was great, but for some reason not meant to be. Things I can't change or have no control over. I try to distract by focusing on hobbies and working through the flashbacks. I try to tell myself I was fine before, it will be fine again at some point.

I usually don't feel like dating after, not that I date much. I forced myself to do so once, but it got just more messy.

I think the friends stuff does only work if both are over it.
