Hi!

I am kind of new to the Aspie world even though I have always had aspergers and didn't know it until about a year ago. It explain a lot of what I have gone through in my life up to now. I am a very shy person that kind of stay to myself. I think I put people off because of my flat reactions, no reaction, or no emotion reactions. I have a real hard time reading other people. I sometimes, a lot of times, take others as if they don't like me or that I have done something wrong. Sometimes I do do something wrong and don't know it until it is to late. I am looking for other adults that are going through or have gone through the same things I have. My doctor suggested I give this a try.

Welcome aboard! Glad to have you join the community here. :)

Hi there TSS

I hope that I do not worry you, but I am one of those aspie's who is very expressive, which is one reason why, despite most fitting me like a glove, I still doubted due to not having a monotone voice or bland look, but since then, find that not all aspies portray the same " traits".

It is awful, isn't it when not being able to read people? To a certain extent, I can now, because I have learned too, but I realise also that I misread emotions a lot and even, as you mention, attribute negative reactions to something that I have done wrong.

Your dr sounds pretty decent, if he recommended you to this site!!

You couldn't have joined a better site and shyness? Well although I am tons better than I used to be, there are still things I am shy about.

Hope to get to know you more.

Welcome! I also have many of the traits you speak of and like you I am new to the site. I can not claim to be an expert but since I've been here I feel better and I like the direction I'm going. Good Luck!

Welcome. Like Omega, I too share many traits with you and have also found that I do feel better about myself since joining this forum.

Hi & welcome!
Sometimes conversation is easier online. And social awkwardness is not really an issue here as we all have that essentially.
