Hello I'm new here. Not formally diagnosed. In my 50s and pretty sure my Grandmother was high functioning autistic.

Hi and welcome. Autism is quite hereditable, I can guess my father was on the spectrum, also my grandfather and/or grandmother on his side. I hope you enjoy it here and find it useful and supportive.

Welcome, Odd Annie. Maybe we're related.

Oddity runs high on my mother's side; she and Gramps both struggled with irregularities. Gramps was diagnosed with an atypical narcolepsy; she with brainwave abnormalities. Four of Mom's five children are odd, but none diagnosed with anything.

My own ASD diagnosis is a selfie (hey - did I just make something up?) Arrived there just last year at age 68. In my own case, confidence in the diagnosis has been very helpful in taking advantage of my new understanding. This has been a great place to find out, as someone said, that I'm not a totally weird human but rather a pretty typical autist. Hope to see you around.
