Hi, my name is Patrick and I've been lurking around on the forum for a while now. I wasn't really sure I had anything worth saying because I've only been diagnosed for a year and I'm only sixteen.
I've got High-Functioning Aspergers (Is that how to say it?) and it feels like it's only getting worse so I've decided to try and join in a bit more.
I like to think I'm a coder or an artist but I'm not too good at either.
The main people in my life are my best friend Bean (Not her real name) and voice I made in my head called Legion.
I've found this forum useful to understand what's going on and thought it was about time I did the introduce yourself thingy.
Not sure what else to say, hope this is enough.

Can Legion do more than one style of voice/intonation/accent?
(This is not a very good question. Because a person could answer
it 'yes' or 'no.')

I use the inside of my head for conversations or phrases, and
like to hear people who can actually do characterizations out loud, with
different voices.

He doesn't speak like Siri or anything. He speaks like a normal person with varying pitch and speed, but he doesn't put on/change accents. He stays the same voice.

I will say that Siri was definitely not a voice I had imagined.
I thought maybe he varied, since his name is Legion.

I realise that could be confusing. He's called that because he took a lot of attempts and he's a mixture of all the failed attempts before him mixed together.

I am not sure about the official diagnosis term, but HFA stands for High Functioning Autism. The term Aspergers was actually removed from the books (in the USA).

Welcome Patrick, and Legion.

I have a friend IRL with Asperger's, and she also has imaginary friends or alters. In her case she has a host of different personalities that all represent different facets of herself. She also writes stories about them, which I suppose is both a creative outlet and a means of processing different issues.

So long as you maintain the distinction between fantasy and reality I believe that having an alter is a perfectly healthy practice.
