Hello,I am a mom of a son with asperger's.He was diagnosed with this when he was a year old.21 years old now and he still has a good life.I have 2 younger daughters,17 and 15 that been good to him.I am amazed he has been doing good,a great girlfriend in his life and a great job.He works for my husband and I,we do auto and diesel repair having our own shop. Our employees treat him well saying he is a good wrenches and hard worker.

Wow! He’s incredibly lucky. Becoming a mechanic is a great path for a young man on the spectrum. Especially when he gets to be introduced to the real world slowly with help of his parents.

Can you go back in time and adopt me?

Welcome! Having the opportunity to work in a family business where one is supported in developing their skills and competencies is a great way to enter the labour market.

Glad to hear that everyone is onboard and that he enjoys the work as well.

Perhaps he may also wish to join and say hi to the community here himself?

Plus my husband did discover something with him at age 13.Discovered him wearing one of my dresses at age 13,he is a part time mtf crossdresser too.Read something with Asperger's and LGBT issues and we fully support him on this too

Welcome! That is great. I agree with the others sentiments here. I think you'll find good information here for you and your son. John Elder Robison wrote a book called Look Me in the Eye: My Life with Asperger's among others.
He also found a career working on automobiles.
Sounds like a great family.
