Hey there,

Well I'm a 34-year-old teacher from and living in France. I've known for my autism for hardly a few months after going through an expert center in France where they mostly focus on diagnosing adults and neurodevelopmental conditions (ADSD, ASD, etc.).

I love Nature and cats a lot. I'm particularly found of using my skills at gardening and botanics in various contributions to biodiversity at home or in a local association.
I enjoy spending time with people and particularly observing others. I tend to ask a lot of questions (how do you feel? why this or that?). I have not received an official "High Potential" label in addition to the ones of ASD and ADSD but I have little doubts when I am told to consider it by many professionals and observe my behavioural patterns and my parents' or sister's that HP runs in the core family.

Besides all this, I have enjoyed living and travelling in Canada, South Africa and England in my twenties before settling for good in my home country of France. I was married for 2 years and got divorced from mutual agreement 1,5 years ago. Since then with the turmoil of understanding I have ASD at all, trying to make sense of it (see it in me as such, ASD), and the quest for supports (at work, at home) to adapt it, I have not had serious moments to really want to try and live with someone again. I miss it but at the moment unless a nice encounter occurs, I want to focus first on adapting ASD.

Hi and welcome to the forums. The people here are really nice and by learning about other people I have learnt so much about myself. It's nice to be able to talk to people with similar problems and know that they really do understand.

welcome to af.webp

It's admirable that you are helping biodiversity in your local area. Sometimes I find I enjoy people watching, yet this often tends to be in crowded environments which quickly fatigue me.

Hope you enjoy your time on the forums. It's a welcoming and friendly place to be.

Bonjour et salut!

I am from the uk, but live in France and goodness me, your English is top topnotch; wish I could speak and write in French as good as you do, in English. Ah, perhaps it is due to you being a teacher?

I was formally diagnosed here, in France, which is pretty unusual for a female.

Welcome/Bienvenue!

I love that you are helping biodiversity. That's an amazing cause. Hopefully (if you feel comfortable) you can share some photos of your garden and animals.
I love cats and most animals too but right now I have only dogs.

I have always wanted to visit France. Such a beautiful country. And you will find that there are a lot of others here on the forums who are from Europe.
And I agree with Suzanne that your written English is top notch!

Hope you enjoy it here, and find what you're looking for!
