Hello everyone.

This is what I got. I hated it. I hated the questions. I found it so hard and answered ‘I don’t know’ a fair few times because I really dont know! It was too hard trying to think about it. Gave me brain ache.

Welcome to the forum! Don’t stress about getting a diagnosis. It isn’t necessary for acceptance here. Many adults opt to never get an official diagnosis because they don’t feel it would benefit them.

If getting an official diagnosis is something you feel strongly about then by all means go for it. But you are on your own time table when it comes to self discovery. Do as much or as little as you want as fast or as slow as you want.

Welcome Toby77.
I got an official diagnosis at age 58 after taking some of the on-line tests mentioned in the above posts.
Also I was getting counseling and it was recommended to see a specialist who gave me the diagnosis.

Hope you enjoy the forum as much as I do.
I found so many others here, after my diagnosis, that it read like the story of my life.
Couldn't believe it. I agree when you are as old as I am, a professional diagnosis isn't necessary.
But, I just wanted confirmation. It was like finally understanding the whys about myself.
I started having those awful panic attacks at age 13.
I've experienced agoraphobia from them being so bad. Times I wouldn't leave my room and required
hospitalization due it.
It's taken many years of therapy and practice, but, I can pretty much control them now with
techniques I've learned. Anxiety is still high though and probably always will be.

Yeah, it's a lot of questions. But just only reading the questions is almost enough to tell you what you need to know.

Thanks. I think I need to to help handle things from this point. Especially being more aware now.

It is good to hear that you can

I do enjoy the site. The only time I ever get a response on facebook is when I post a woodworking project picture. But if I post a message.......I will only get one or two replies. Not on here. The response is amazing.
Do you changes in day light, shorter or longer days make your panic attacks worsen?

Here is an example that I struggle with.

My co-workers will ask a question and I will answer it how I feel it short but clear cut. They can turn that answer into a 30 minute conversation which only they are a part of. It's happening right now as I type this on my phone. I will not even look in their direction and they keep talking.

I am new to forums so I am not sure if I should have started a new thread for this or not.
