For the US people here - how do you plan on spending the 4th of July this year?

I plan on putting on headphones and playing video games in my soundproofed house, so that I don't have to hear one of my neighbors (who has more cash than sense) set off fireworks all night long again.

What are your plans?

Same as any weekend or any day - some exercise, some music, some gardening, some cooking, and perhaps texting my SIL or a friend. Take the canoe out for a paddle. And of course, my canoeing forum and this forum.

I might be going to a former co-worker's house party on Saturday and then going to the local fireworks display near the river. I've been before. The party is never very big but the fireworks display can be. It's fun, but crowded sometimes and I'm not a fan of crowds.

Might also be dependent on weather. I have not seen what the forecast looks like - it's been raining a lot here lately.

I'll be home, doing just whatever.

I'm in the absolute middle of nowhere, I dont have to deal with fireworks, so that's nice.

I definitely wont be leaving the house that day at all, or probably the days before and after. What with drunken idiot drivers around.

I plan to use some sparklers and pop it's in the driveway and stand out by the road to watch the neighbors' fireworks. I love watching them of a year. I am a little sad that I can't afford to buy any this year but at least I can still enjoy theirs.🇺🇸🎇🎆

I will spend the day staying off the roads. I consider this the year's second National Drunk Driving Day. The evening I will spend comforting the dog in his safe hidey hole. He is terrified of boom-booms.

Hanging out with friends on the 3rd. Yes, I have plenty of friends and I have to keep having one of them knock sense into me that I have them.

The 4th, I will most likely just take a walk.

I plan to harvest my Garlic. Two weeks ago I snipped off the scapes. Last year I got 32 bulbs of not less than a 1/4 pound each, of German Red, hardneck garlic.

Personal fireworks are illegal here due to fire danger. There are no official fireworks displays here for the same reason. Like @Misery, I am in the middle of nowhere so I don't have to worry about noisy parties. I will stay off the roads all weekend since everybody will be near blackout drunk. At my mama's place in Sacramento a lot of her neighbors absolutely LOVE illegal fireworks. It doesn't matter how much the law cracks down, it's BOOM BOOM BOOM literally all night long. Thank dog I don't have to deal with that anymore.

Praying for rain so people won't shoot fireworks and guns. Will go to my daughter's house for a cookout. She and her husband will do the cooking, and I'll bring an appetizer.

No plans. Just a day off of work for my wife and I. The neighbors will be launching big fireworks in the farm field behind us. I, on the other hand, will be in bed by 9pm. It's my weekend to work. Rise and shine at 04:30.

I'll work the day, maybe watch some fireworks outside but most likely put on headphones and play guitar or mix / master new songs. I will likely have my dogs near me, as well because it's mostly sound proof in said room.

It's nothing different than any other day. Do the fireworks bother me? Yeah, but not enough to prevent me from walking.

As a kid in day camp, the day off on Independence Day was probably a relief; I hated camp. We would often join our grandparents, cousins, et al for a picnic at a park. That was nice.

My Dad was able to get some fireworks since I can't afford them this year so change of plans - use my sparklers and pop it's plus set off actual fireworks and some more pop it's and still watch the neighbors' most likely larger fireworks display as well.🇺🇸🎆🇺🇸🎇
