Face Blindness - What is Face Blindness or Prosopagnosia in Autism

I have this...

So do I & I think I remember Dizzy & a few others saying that they have a terrible time recognizing faces.

Oh, count me in...

I'm terrible with faces. Quite often I either memorize people by other features (tattoos or distinct fashion style) or by voice.

I would say I have that same problem also. It takes forever especially in a work setting to remember who is who and their names.
I usually only catch on when I have to page or call on them alot.

I use context and clothing to recognize people...it works sometimes. But if I meet them in a different place than usual, I'm screwed.

I went for coffee the other day in a shopping centre and was supposed to meet my mother, I couldn't find her even though I walked past her once and when I heard her call my name it was while I was looking for her the second time that I walked past her again... She was wearing a new outfit she had bought a few days earlier!

People I know might not as well have faces as I tend to recognise them by clothes or other attributes, though I didn’t know that until this incident made it evident.

Sigh. It is the same with me. If I see you out of context, I am likely never to recognize you.

I have the same problem. It's fine until I run into a coworker in a social setting, like at a restaurant, and I have no idea who they are until they tell me we work together.

I also get complete face blindness when having a seizure. I won't even recognize myself.

Re: http://autism.about.com/od/SymptomsofAutism/f/What-Is-Face-Blindness-Prosopagnosi

I think I might have a mild case of this. I had difficulties differentiating between some people (that others claimed looked nothing alike) at the place I work when I first started. I also once had a hard time seeing similarities between a pair of twins once (one had long hair and short beard, one had short hair and clean shaven)

Also, I vividly recall one time not being able to remember the face of my own sister when I was a child, only being able to imagine an approximation of her with constantly morphing facial features (happened with many other people as well). I don't the same issue remembering faces anymore (morphing facial features), now I either remember them well or not at all.
