Emotional Intelligence

Hey guys :)

Just thought I'd share this video, as I feel that many of us would be able to benefit from learning more about this topic. I don't want to come across as preachy, but feel it could be good for those who feel they've tried everything, and are desperate to find answers, and change their lives. It does take much work, and time, and so may not be for everyone, but I personally feel that taking an interest in this has helped me in life (in more areas than one).

As someone who used to have a very low emotional intelligence (or EQ), I used to struggle with not only understanding other people, but I also had trouble understanding myself, understanding why the world is the way it is, why situations never worked in my favour, I struggled with low self-confidence (and would never volunteer to initiate talk, let alone act as a moderator, or lead others), and I even struggled to understand why I was unhappy at times. Of course, I don't have a particularly high EQ by NT standards now, but it has not only solved many day-to-day issues, but it has also opened up opportunities in my life, and allowed me to be much happier with the general quality of my life.

This guy looks like a cleaned up Smegul.....

Smegul says I have no emotional intel, I have to agree with him on that. I am a professional procrastinator, stubborn, rigid, although I can listen to someone since it is nice to be talked to on the rare occasions it happens.

Scored a 33 out of 100 on an eq test, would have thought I would be closer to a zero though.

Not gonna bother with the test. This guy already says I have high EQ, because I get stuff done. Not putting a lot of stock in his sense of logic, but that's what he is saying.

I don't value info that is based on what "THEY" have "discovered." Anyone can make a video. If the info is so real and important, why not back it up with names and facts? Would you take a science course in which the people who "discovered" properties of electricity were referred to only as "THEY?" This is a huge problem with psychology - it's a belief system, not science. You don't even have to have a degree or a license to offer "help." Besides, the tests are rigged to find so-called pathologies in ASD.

Nobody needs to explain to me why it is useful.
Whether I can do it without betraying myself is what I need to lean better.
This video doesn't do that.

acting someone I am not and will never really be
changing outer appearance much faster than the I can support it to some depth
worst ... losing awareness of the fact that I am acting

Whatever I act, I need to stay myself. So, this self has to change too for more progress but that takes time.
This self shall not feel squeezed to the point where it breaks out in a destcructive manner. It must feel taken seriously.

The outer appearance and my inner world have to work together and not to fight each other.
