Candy corn lore

My favorite candy corn is Brach's
ingredients: Sugar, Corn Syrup, Confectioner's Glaze (Shellac), Salt, Dextrose, Gelatin, Sesame Oil, Artificial Flavor, Honey, Yellow 6, Yellow 5, Red 3. This product was manufactured in a facility where milk, eggs, tree nuts, coconut, peanuts, wheat and soy are used in the production of other products.
Who can resist the sublime and subtle flavors of Yellow 6 and Yellow 5, especially when paired with Red 3?

I see plenty of candy corn this time of year, but it doesn't seem to be popular with anyone. I tried it once and thought it was like eating crayons. Maybe it's more of an American thing.

Caramel corn, on the other hand, is excellent. When I was really young some people gave out homemade popcorn balls to kids on Halloween. But because of "stranger danger" that's not a thing anymore. Even though nearly all cases of Halloween candy being poisoned was by the kids' own parents.
