Does anybody else find (t)his stuff to be incredibly catchy and lovely like I do?

At one point, the ironic value somehow turned into unironically listening to all of his songs back to back, and I secretly think he might be a musical genius.

Funny how often this happens to me.

It’s like, on the surface it is just silly and bizarre, but if you give it a chance there seems to be a real artist with an interesting and unique perspective underneath. Not to mention the art of humor.

Why secretly? The actual compositional work and lyricism style he uses genuinely take a lot of talent and effort.
His music is packed to the brim with ideas even though he sticks with safe harmonies.

It certainly is upbeat in effect. But my own tastes lean towards the odd and angsty.

This is a german folk metal band singing about a famous competition between minstrels that took place in the middle ages. The Singer's War.

That's my tendency, too! Mostly it's metal and hardcore for me, which is probably why I'm really out of touch with most people's tastes otherwise :)

Also that track reminds me vaguely of Finntroll or Ensiferum
